August/September Update

Hello, everyone.

I hope you've been having a great September so far. It's been a while since I shared an update here, so I wanted to hop on to talk about what's been going on.

Cat Shenanigans

It's been a bit of a stressful week in my home. I want to preface this by saying everyone is okay, but if details of vet visits aren't your thing you should skip this section.

Anyway, we had to take our youngest cat, Moth, to the emergency vet Tuesday night. Poor buddy was urinating blood, which is never a good sign. Thankfully, he wasn't blocked and didn't have bladder stones. He does, however, have anxiety induced urinary crystals. We'll be switching him to a prescription diet to prevent future crystals and have started treatment for his anxiety. It's been a long few days of figuring out how to best help him, cleaning up carpet, and retraining him to use the litter boxes. Overall, he gave us quite the scare but is on the mend.

Upcoming Publication

On a happier note, I'm so excited to announce three of my poems will be coming out in the Fall/Winter 2025 issue of Sage Cigarettes. It will be available for free on the magazine's website later this month. The process of working with the editing team has been lovely, and I can't wait to see the issue in action.
